    Sydney and Brisbane Lions will face off at the MCG in this year’s AFL Grand Final.

    WHAT TIME DOES THE AFL GRAND FINAL START?

    The 2024 Grand Final will be played on Saturday, September 28 from 2.30pm at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

    The match starts at the following times in each state and territory:

    AEST 2:30pm – ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC

    AWST 12:30pm – WA

    ACST 2:00pm – NT, SA

    HOW TO WATCH THE GRAND FINAL

    The Grand Final is live on Channel 7 and 7Plus. A full replay will be available on Kayo Sports.

    WHO WILL WIN THE GRAND FINAL?

    Ladbrokes had Sydney favourites at $1.73 and Brisbane Lions as $2.10 outsiders as of 4pm Thursday.

    WHAT ARE THE GRAND FINAL TEAMS?

    These are the Sydney and Brisbane teams named on Thursday night.

    WHAT HAPPENS IF THE GRAND FINAL IS A DRAW?

    Two periods of three minutes are played until a result is determined. At the end of the first period, teams will immediately change ends without a break. If the scores are still tied, an additional three-minute period is added until a winner can be declared.

    WHO IS PERFORMING AT THIS YEAR’S GRAND FINAL?

    US pop star Katy Perry is the headline act in the 2024 AFL Grand Final entertainment.

    Cody Simpson, Christine Anu, Zipporah Corser-Anu and Mike Brady will also perform pre-game.

    WHO IS NORM SMITH MEDAL FAVOURITE?

    The 2024 Norm Smith medal will be awarded to the player judged best afield in the AFL Grand Final. Sydney’s Isaac Heeney is favourite.

    WHO WILL PRESENT THE MEDALS ON GRAND FINAL DAY?

    Geelong premiership captain Fred Wooller will present the first Ron Barassi Medal to the winning captain.

    Three-time premiership player and Norm Smith medallist Steve Johnson will present this year’s Norm Smith Medal.

    The Jock McHale Medal — awarded to the premiership coach — will be presented by David Parkin.

    The premiership cup will be delivered by West Coast goalkicking champion Josh Kennedy.

    CAN I STILL GET TICKETS?

    Grand Final tickets were exhausted on Tuesday, when the AFL declared a sell out.

    WHEN IS THE GRAND FINAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY?

    Friday, September 27.

    HOW DO I GET TO THE GRAND FINAL?

    The MCG reccomends arriving with plenty of time to enter before the Grand Final starts due to long wait times.

    Spectators are encouraged to download their ticket prior to arriving at the ground.

    There are several public transport options available — train to Jolimont or Richmond stations, tram routes 75, 48 and 70 or the MCG recommends using the 246 bus which stops on Punt Rd.
