Richmond and Port Adelaide both enter the match on Thursday 9 June coming off the bye and sit just outside the eight. Here’s how to watch the match and catch up on all the news in the lead-up.

Tigers v Power preview

What a difference 18 months make. Back during the pandemic, with players confined to bubbles, these teams played a thrilling preliminary final at the Adelaide Oval for a place in the 2020 AFL Grand Final.

Fast forward to June 2022, and arguably, each team is teetering between rebuild and contending once again. The Tigers are one win outside the eight with Port four points behind led by spiritual leader Travis Boak.

Richmond has the benefit of a 13-day break heading into this fixture and it will be Port Adelaide’s first match at the MCG in more than 12 months. The Power have 10 days between matches.

The game starts at 7.20pm (AEST) and 6.50pm (ACST) on Thursday 9 June.

History between Tigers and Power

Richmond host Port Adelaide at the MCG for the first time since July 2019 which the hosts won by 38 points. Port have won two out of the last three against the Tigers with the one loss being that 2020 preliminary final.
