Eagles v Cats preview
It has been 30 years since West Coast’s first premiership when they defeated Saturday’s opponent to claim the flag. At the moment though, the Eagles’ are a far cry from that type of success.
They remain stuck to the bottom of the ladder with one win. The Eagles are however welcome back four star premiership players at Optus Stadium.
Dom Sheed, Willie Rioli, Elliot Yeo and four-time All-Australian defender Jeremy McGovern all return. They are among seven changes including a debut for 18-year-old Rhett Bazzo.
Whereas Geelong super star Patrick Dangerfield will be another week in his recovery from his calf injury.
Jeremy Cameron is second in the Coleman Medal race, one goal behind Carlton’s Charlie Curnow on 38. The Cats’ forward kicked three in last year’s 97-point punishment handed to West Coast in Geelong.
Both teams are coming off the bye leading into this fixture.
