NBL investigating 36ers & fans incident

Adelaide 36ers star Montrezl Harrell has taken to social media to question if he’ll return to Australia after Sunday’s ugly altercation with fans and Melbourne United players and staff.

Harrell faces a significant suspension for his role in a melee with United players before the emotions spilled over into the stands with the fans.

The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year has headed home to America for the FIBA break and while on board posted this message during a live Instagram feed on the flight: “Do I come back to Australia”, with an emoji of a person putting their hands in the air questioning.

Harrell’s post comes as Adelaide officials privately fear the ex-Los Angeles Clippers big man will become a target on the road following his emotional outburst against United.

It comes as CODE Sports understands NBL and Melbourne officials are struggling to identify the name of the fan wearing the grey hoodie who was captured pushing players.

Contact has been made to various parties involved in the incident to obtain details, but it’s believed cooperation is a battle at this point.
