Tszyucastle now, next stop Tszyu York?

That’s one bold plan No Limit boss Matt Rose has for Tim Tszyu, who could fight at the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York in July.

Tszyu resurrected his professional career with a one-sided four round destruction of Joey Spencer on Sunday, silencing his critics after back-to-back defeats in 2024.

‘The Soul Taker’ has been linked to a fight with Keith Thurman in July, while a rematch with two-belt world champion Sebastian Fundora – who beat Tszyu in a bloody Las Vegas battle last year – is also a possibility.

If Tszyu’s next fight is against Fundora, it will be held in America.

Thurman is willing to face the Aussie on the Gold Coast, but Rose told CODE Sports that New York is also an option.

“It’s Fundora or Thurman next,” the promoter said. “We can bring Thurman back to Australia, but there’s an option to go to Madison Square Garden as well around July.

“There are options to do these things now.

“There’s the Gold Coast – which is the Vegas of Australia – there’s Las Vegas and there’s New York.

“I’m confident Timmy is ready to rule the world again.”

CODE Sports broke the possibility of fighting in The Big Apple to Tszyu in his dressing room on Sunday afternoon.

“That gives me a little wake up, I didn’t know that,” he said. “That’s another dream right there, f***in’ oath!

“I’ve walked past Madison Square Garden, but I’ve never been inside. That would be one hell of a dream.

“T-Mobile Arena was a dream of mine, and I’m glad we got that done, and that’s to be continued, of course.

“But Madison Square Garden? That’s an iconic venue.”

Tszyu’s manager, Glen Jennings confirmed ‘The Soul Taker’ came through the Spencer bout injury free, and would get to work over the next few weeks on the 30-year-old’s next fight.

“Madison Square Garden would be brilliant, it’s a bucket list thing for Tim,” Jennings told CODE Sports. “He’s done T-Mobile, and Madison Square Garden would be gold.

“Those opportunities are just waiting now. Tim’s feeling terrific and has no injuries. It’s really exciting.

“There’s some history there, mate. I love coming to Newcastle because of the history with the Tszyu name, but MSG is mega-history.”

Thurman beat Brock Jarvis in Sydney last month, and wants to take on “the big kangaroo” Tszyu in Australia in July.

But after struggling with the weight cut last week, Tszyu revealed his days at super-welterweight are numbered, meaning he would consider going straight for the world champions before a move to middleweight in 2026.

“One day when I write a book, this weight cut will be mentioned,” he said. “I can do one more year (at 69.9kg), but at middleweight (72.6kg) there’s big things.

“There’s (Erislandy) Lara, (Carlos) Adames, (Jermall) Charlo, it’s a red hot division as well.”

Tszyu’s mum, Natasha, has sworn never to attend or even watch any more of Tim and Nikita’s fights after her oldest son’s loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev last year.

She remained in Sydney, receiving regular text updates from family at the arena in Newcastle.

After attending one of Tim’s professional fights for just the second time in Orlando in October, Kostya was also absent on Sunday afternoon.

Now back home in Russia, ‘The Thunder From Down Under’ was kept up to date with former training partner Grant ‘Tassie’ Brown sending him a video from ringside via WhatsApp after each round.

He posted the winning moment to his Instagram page with the caption “Возвращение” which translates simply to “Return”.

The Tszyu family is now a combined 51-0 in Australia and 13-0 in Newcastle, and Tim hinted he wanted to extend the streak to a third generation.

“I hope this is not the last time I’m here,” he said of his family’s record in Newcastle. “If it is, it’s been one hell of a show and a journey.

“From my father to me and my brother. Hopefully, if I have kids, we can continue that on again.”

Tszyu’s wife, Alex, was standing right behind him shaking her head.

“Nope, absolutely not,” she told CODE Sports of the prospect of their kids boxing. “Unless they win by knockout.”

Tim quickly rolled the statement back too.

“Maybe that was the heat of the moment, maybe I don’t want my kids doing boxing,” he joked before leaving the door open to that exact possibility.

      “It would be cool though.

“If I have kids one day, and they get the chance to fight in Newcastle, wow, are you serious? That would be cool.”

Tszyu celebrated the win over Spencer with his team at the Novotel in Newcastle, with the Matildas arriving at the same hotel on Sunday afternoon ahead of their game against Korea on Monday.

A keen football fan, Tszyu snapped a picture with stand-in captain Steph Catley in the hotel lobby.
