Meet the Writers

Nic Darveniza is the Townsville Bulletin’s sports editor, and writes for CODE Sports. In 2022, he joined the Bulletin from the Gold Coast Bulletin, where he covered cricket, rugby union, rugby league, and previously reported for the Courier-Mail in Brisbane. A published author and rugby commentator, Darveniza grew up in Fiji but has deep family ties to the North with family around Innisfail and Home Hill. Like every lower grade battler, Darveniza would have been a Wallaby if not for a dodgy right knee and a total inability to tackle in the open field.
