Jason Coyle confident ‘raw’ gelding King Of Dubai has a nice future as he looks to Rosehill Gardens
King Of Dubai is only lightly-raced but trainer Jason Coyle is convinced the best is yet to come with his Pride Of Dubai gelding.

King Of Dubai still hasn’t worked out what it’s all about but trainer Jason Coyle is confident he will have a nice horse on his hands when he does.
Coyle’s promising galloper attempts to end his preparation on a high note at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
The trainer believes the son of Pride Of Dubai has plenty of upside, with the gelding showing more than a few glimpses of it in six starts to date that have brought a win and three placings.
The emerging three-year-old can boost that record when he lines up in the Inglis Classic Sale 11-13 Feb Benchmark 72 Handicap (1300m).

“He is so raw,” Coyle said.
“I still don’t think he has really figured it out.
“Chad (Schofield) got off him last start and said he is a bit dumb and has so much to learn about his race craft.
“He might be one of those horses that’s going to take a bit longer and hopefully that will be next prep but there is a lot of upside for him.”
• It’s heartbreaking: Far Too Easy’s Mission Impossible
King Of Dubai ($9) has form around leading Magic Millions 3YO Guineas contender Sydney Bowler after chasing home John O’Shea’s unbeaten galloper last start in Sydney.
Coyle’s sprinter finished just over two lengths off Sydney Bowler in the 1100m affair, sticking on strongly for second.
“I think he was good last start,” Coyle said.
“The preparation seems to be going well. He is showing his fair share of ability. I still think his best will be next preparation but I think it would still be nice to knock one off before he has a little break.
“I don’t think he has had enough, I just want to give him a little break to get him back as a late three-year-old.”
King Of Dubai had held a nomination for Saturday’s $3m Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on the Gold Coast after being purchased the January sale two years ago for just $15,000 but has remained in his home state instead.

Chad Schofield will continue his association with King Of Dubai and will combine with Coyle to start the day with Bluff ‘N’ Bluster in the Midway Benchmark 72 Handicap (1500m).
Bluff ‘N’ Bluster was eighth last start in similar grade but Coyle believes his son of The Brothers War is going better than that result suggests, with TAB rating him a $9 chance.
“It was a merry-go-round. Where they were in the run was where they finished last start,” Coyle said.
“Nothing made up ground and sectionals were all good for backmarkers so pot him on that run at your peril.
“I just hope the track can get into the soft range and it’s not too firm.”
“It would be nice to see the rain clouds stay over and have a little jar out.”

Not That Easy is the $101 outsider of Coyle’s trio of runners.
The Casino Prince mare is chasing her second career victory in the Chandon Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200m) after finishing third at the midweeks last time at Canterbury.
“She is going great,” Coyle said.
“They absolutely walked at Canterbury in a race that had four leaders and they all decided to put the handbrake on quick.
“She brings herself underdone but when conditions suit and races are run at the right tempo, she really picks herself up and tries hard.
“She closes off strong and could close off strong in a Class 1 at Nowra or close off strong in a 78 at Rosehill but they pay better at Rosehill.”
Jay Ford rides Not That Easy.
Coyle also has Brynner and Mythical Moochi headed towards Kembla Grange on Saturday afternoon.
RHINOCEROS TO CHARGE AT ROSEHILL
Former Kiwi trainers Emma-Lee and David Browne will break new ground with a first Rosehill Gardens runner this Saturday and they’re adamant Victorian raider Rhinoceros isn’t come just to make up the numbers.
The married training partners, who moved to Australia full time in the middle of 2022, have planned a rare Sydney raid in pursuit of their first Australian win outside of Victoria.
Rhinoceros will be the stable’s sixth runner in NSW when the gelding contests the TAB Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m).

The son of Vadamos had also been among the acceptors in a mile race in Melbourne before the stable made the decision to head north.
“He had a bad gate at Flemington, drawing the outside barrier and would have had to do a lot of work to get around them,” David Browne said.
“He travelled up really good with no dramas. He likes racing, this horse, and he also like firm ground so hopefully it will turn out for him up there.”
Rhinoceros ($16) is deep in his preparation with 10 starts under his belt this time in, chalking up three victories along the way.
Browne believes the five-year-old is holding his form as he prepares to link up with Regan Bayliss this weekend.
“I think he is a fairly good chance,” Browne said.
“He will lead most of the time but he can actually take a sit as well if there is too much pressure, he can take a sit in behind.
“He is a little tractable as he has got older than he used to be when he could be a bit one dimensional.”
The Brownes are on track for a career-best season, with 16 winners already this campaign.
After starting out in Australia with a base at Cranbourne, they made the move across to Pakenham at the beginning of the spring and have seen near instant results.
“We are really happy at the moment, a lot of horses are going well and the shift to Pakenham has been good to us,” Browne said.
“It’s a lot more relaxed and suits our way of training.”
The Browne’s have 20 boxes on course with a walker and treadmill
