MRVC chief executive Michael Browell was rapt to secure the services of Patterson with the club set to embark on the redevelopment of the track following the Cox Plate later this year.
“I congratulate Shaun on his appointment. He brings a wealth of experience and insight from his time with the ATC,” Browell said.
“As we approach the final spring under our current track configuration, his expertise will play a key role in ensuring a successful carnival.
“Moreover, Shaun’s leadership will be essential as we navigate a transformative period in the club’s history with the redevelopment of the track.
“We are thrilled to have Shaun lead our outstanding track and grounds team alongside track foreman tony salisbury, who has stepped up as acting racecourse manager over the past few months.”
Patterson will finish in his role at the Australian Turf Club on April 24.
ATC head of racing and wagering Navesh Ramandi thanked Patterson for his service to the club that goes across 18 years.
“Shaun commenced at the former STC in 2007 as an apprentice in Sports Turf Management and since that time has built a great career,” Ramandi said.
“Shaun rose within the ranks of the tracks and gardens team to become assistant track manager of Rosehill Gardens in April 2013.
“After five successful years as assistant, Shaun was promoted to racecourse manager and has served the club with distinction, being well regarded within the industry and by his peers.
“The ATC thanks Shaun and wishes him every success as he embarks on another exciting opportunity in the racing industry.’’
