Matt Tyquin, Luke Dahlhaus star in GDFNL round 13, stats and ranking points from every game
A premiership Hawk returned with a bang in round 13 of the GDFNL, while two Anakie stars spearheaded the Roos’ fourth win of the year. See all the stats, ranking points.
Inverleigh’s Matt Tyquin made an instant impact on return to help keep the reigning premiers’ finals hopes alive and well.
The premiership Hawk was last seen in round 8 but returned with a bang in their hard-fought 19-point win over Bell Post Hill.
The onballer was the leading player on the ground for disposals (34), marks (10) and inside 50s (nine) to finish with 184 Premier Data ranking points, with teammates Finley O’Keefe and Brayden Warren also putting in 100-plus point performances.
O’Keefe was dominant with 12 clearances to go along with 33 touches and 12 tackles for 148 points, with Warren feeding Tyquin and O’Keefe with 52 hit outs as the leading ruck on ground.
Meanwhile, Panthers teammates Boe Collins and Jack Yates worked hard in the loss, Collins with a team-high 29 touches and nine clearances while Yates had 26 possessions and laid 12 tackles.
Belmont Lions was back on the winners list in round 13 off the back of big performance from several players.
Skipper Jak Evans led from the front in the 76-point win over Corio with 26 touches, nine marks, five goals and 164 ranking points playing both midfield and forward, while brother Ben Evans’ seven goals and eight marks saw the forward target pull in 141 points.
Bradley Michell (28 disposals, 10 inside 50s and 144 points) and Braeden Eddy (32 touches, 11 marks, seven clearances and 133 points) dominated the wing and midfield for the Lions, served well by second ruck Noah Houtsma’s efforts, including 15 hit-outs and eight intercepts for 134 points.
Hayden Burns was Corio’s top-ranked player with 28 touches and nine marks, with Matthew James also prominent with 30 possessions and eight clearances for 122 points.
Meanwhile, Anakie stars Luke Dahlhaus and Ajang Kuol mun played big parts in the Roos’ fourth win of the year over North Geelong.
Ex-Cat Dahlhaus pulled in a team-high 37 touches, as well as six clearances in the 31-point win, while VFL-listed ruck Kuol mun dominated with 53 hit-outs, 26 possessions and eight clearances.
Magpies’ Blake Miller, who plays between forward and ruck, was his team’s best performer with 25 disposals, 16 marks, 10 hit-outs and three goals, while midfielder Tom Schwennesen finished with a weekend-high 40 disposals for 148 points.
